Job Summary

The Shop Mechanic will be accountable for diagnosing, servicing and repairing all makes and models of new and used heavy equipment. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and a team spirit. Safety is a priority!

Main Responsibilities

Prepares and coordinates their work: prioritizes the operations to be carried out, observing the timelines, using the data for the life of the facilities and orders the supplies vital for maintenance.

Identifies breakdowns: detects and localizes breakdowns using suitable diagnostic tools, carries out tests for detailed functioning before putting back in service, identifies the cause of the malfunction and identifies the technical steps to complete.

Keeps in repair vehicles or facilities: carries out periodic upkeep of construction site vehicles according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, carries out repairs (mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic) in conformity with established diagnostic, verifies the accurate functioning of the equipment and vehicles before making them available and keeps the upkeep log (paper or computerized) up to date.

Education

College/University Degree(s) preferred.

5 years of heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair.

Must have a CDL and Medical Examiners Card.

MSHA certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

Required to pass drug screening and PAT (physical abilities test).

Frequent exposure to loud noises.

Regularly exposed to weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.

Travel to our clients’ job sites may be required.
