Job Summary

Southeast Road Builders is seeking motivated and skilled Construction Laborers in Prince of Wales, AK to support field operations across our civil construction and earthwork projects. This role is essential to the successful execution of work including stormwater BMP installation, pipe installation, fine grading, and general site support. Construction Laborers work closely with crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and industry best practices.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned duties safely and efficiently in support of earthwork and civil construction operations
  • Conduct required pre-shift inspections on vehicles, equipment, and small tools (including lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and fluids)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite
  • Apply basic civil construction knowledge to ensure quality workmanship
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and project personnel to coordinate daily activities
  • Comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support project demands

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of skilled construction experience or 3,500 hours of equivalent work
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrated commitment to following company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to maintain a clean driving record

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and a Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
  • Ability to exert 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
