Job Summary
The Flagger/Reclamation Spotter provides support and coordination of customer and trucking activities at the URP Reclamation Site as well as remote mineoperations. The Flagger/Spotter position sets up traffic control and then assists contract haulers from exiting the mine/ reclamation sites. The spotter positionassists customer trucks to ensure they unload soils in the accurate location at the mine/ reclamation site. This position may also be required to manually pickup debris found in truck loads to ensure quality of the mine/ reclamation activities. The Flagger/Spotter will also use monitoring equipment to confirmenvironmental compliance of import loads.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist crew with clean up and housekeeping around sites
- Complete needed site and area inspections
- Guide customer trucks to proper dump areas at Reclamation Sites
- Guide haulers out of mine site by flagging public traffic
- Monitor reclamation customer and contract hauler loads and remove debris (asphalt, trash, wood, etc)
- Set up traffic control
- Other duties as assigned by Foreman and/or Site Manager
Education
- Previous Flagger training preferred
- Complete Flagger Certification and MSHA Training
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle
Skills
- Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies
- Ability to work well with peers
- Ability to follow oral and written plans and directions
- Must have a strong mechanical proficiency
- Must have a strong, team-oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance
- Understands MSHA and OSHA regulations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need require
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need emerge
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the need emerge
- Ability to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workday
- Ability to see clearly or with assistance via necessary correction
