Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, the Mechanic is responsible for all maintenance and repair of aggregate plant equipment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Examines and diagnoses problems, and repairs according to generally accepted methods. Discusses extensive or difficult in depth repairs with Supervisor

- Performs routine scheduled maintenance as outlined on PM checklists

- Removes components for repair or replacement such as, but not limited to; motors, gearboxes, pulleys, bearings, rollers, conveyor belts, v-belts, pumps, etc.

- Disassembles components, inspects parts for wear, and determines cause of failure

- Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems, and components

- Inspects and replaces parts such as crusher liners, screen media, etc.

- Overhauls or rebuilds serviceable components

- Performs welding, cutting and fabricating, must pass a welding/cutting test

- Replaces and or repairs chute liners/wear plate, able to fabricate steel in or out of the field for proper fit

- Other duties as assigned

- Recommends parts for repair

- Perform post repair test drives

- Possess mechanical as well as basic electrical skills

- Will perform clean-up as necessary to keep tools, equipment, and working areas clean, orderly, and safe

- Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds. Safety equipment means clothing and apparatus including, but not limited to hardhat, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, back support belts, gloves and respirators



- Ability to use necessary tools

- Ability to work scheduled hours, which could include 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.

- High School Diploma or GED

- 2-year Technical school

- 2-3 years experience in a similar industry preferred

- Ability tp work overtime and various shift times as required including weekends


Physical Requirements:

- Talk and hear

- Use hands and fingers

- Ability to lift, carry, pull, push up to 50 lbs.

- Stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands

- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch

- See well (either naturally or with correction)

- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces

- Ability to climb on equipment and reach
