Job Summary

The Colaska team is committed to the well-being of our employees, through compensation, work-life balance, benefits, and career development. We are looking for an experienced accountant in our Juneau office who aspires to be a future controller. This role will work closely with operations to understand and assure proper flow of accounting information. As well as complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities alongside Controller to include journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.   The compensation range is $76k-$96k annually, plus discretionary annual bonus. We offer 20 days PTO, 11 paid holidays annually, and various leave work early days.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other applicable discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in accounting, 3+ preferred in construction/manufacturing industry
  • Motivated to obtain CPA or CFMA certifications
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Must possess excellent skills with Microsoft Windows and MS Office suite, particularly Outlook and Excel (intermediate level). Experience with JDE, Sage, Timberline, or other enterprise construction industry software is a plus

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing accounting including product costing and pricing, production, and inventory control
  • Equipment cost pool accounting
  • Assist equipment manager throughout equipment life cycle
  • Equipment fleet fuel cards maintenance
  • Monthly Pcard expense reporting
  • Monthly and quarterly sales tax reporting for several SE Alaska municipalities
  • Support accounts payable and receivable positions
