Job Summary
Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement solutions for our customers’ needs. We are currently looking for a Marketing Intern out of our Liverpool, NY office for the 2025 summer season. This is a paid internship. This position will give you the opportunity to work closely with our Marketing and Communications Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and developing content for our organizations marketing materials, and social media platforms.
Primary Duties:

Travel to job sites throughout NY, Ohio and PA to capture photo and video content

Create and write marketing materials for job postings, social media, and other business needs.

Stay current on new graphic design and social media trends.

Utilize Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to create high quality designs.

Monitor social media and website analytics
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Marketing or Digital Media degree, or a degree in a related field
- Experience in video editing
- Proficient with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
2025 Marketing Intern Goals, Projects, and Tasks Overview
Goals
- Learn about the construction industry via exposure, visiting job sites, and attending intern development calls
- Prepare for and present at the Intern Presentations (week of August 4th)
- Increase knowledge and skills in marketing and communications while exploring future career options
- Expand functional skills in design, social media, and content creation through developing skill level in relevant software
- Understand the importance of safety in the construction industry and the role we each play in upholding a safety culture
Projects
- Analytics report and suggestions for social media strategy. Come up with ways to increase engagement and growth on socials
- Design and run social media campaign(s) on topics like safety, education, different departments and what they do, etc
- Preplan social media posts for upcoming events/holidays
- Create a project or content highlighting the intern experience at Barrett
- Create Barrett templates in Canva to increase consistency and ease of posting. Adapt these templates to the preferred aspect ratio for each channel (FB, IG, Linkedin)
- Develop presentation for the Intern Presentations
- Learn the basics of Adobe CC, so that it can be incorporated into workflow
Tasks
- Familiarize self with brand identity and relationship to Barrett and Colas
- 1-2 blogposts for Barrett's website per month (special events, adapted from newsletter articles, etc)
- Update Instagram highlights (black and red color scheme, modernize, update)
- Upload backlog of TikToks/Reels to Youtube Shorts
- Visit job sites to capture content for communications and marketing materials
- Create 1-2 posts for social media (Tiktok, Linkedin, Instagram) per week
- Respond to comments on social media in a timely manner
- Attend events requiring documentation
- Barrett Cup (date TBD)
- Help with editing and compiling the summer newsletter
- Help marketing/communications tasks as need
