Mission

Reeves is currently hiring for an Asphalt Paving Training and Product Support Specialist. The applicant must be competent in all equipment operational best practices, new equipment operation instruction including highway and commercial class asphalt construction equipment and must be capable of providing technical support to operations. The applicant should be a leader, be safety minded, and have excellent communication skills.
 

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily task training of new employees on all aspects of equipment operation and safety. This will include in person hands on training.
  • At the direction of the Director of Quality or President, conduct special investigations or research studies into construction, equipment, or new industry technology and prepare detailed written reports.
  • Provides expert level technical services related to construction operational excellence and best practice in asphalt paving. 
  • Recommends policy changes for new technology involving Asphalt Construction. Responds to construction related problems, recommending appropriate solutions in a timely manner. 
  • Makes routine visits to projects to observe handling and placement of materials. 
  • Assists project personnel and QC Managers in identifying any discrepancies and/or deficiencies and recommends corrective action as needed. 
  • Submits all reports concerning the deficiencies and/or discrepancies and recommendations in a timely manner. 
  • Reviews plans, proposals, and preconstruction test data and informs personnel of any areas that might require special attention. 
  • Evaluates the existing condition of projects prior to construction.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve operational excellence within limits of equipment/project scope capability.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data, or enters data into computer for analysis and preparing documents for the company
  • Must have the ability to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
  • Represent the company in business and industry trade associations. Attend and participate in Industry training related to new technology and advances in bituminous materials, equipment, and construction.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of trends, developments and techniques through journals, publications, State DOT programs and continuing education programs.
  • Capable of preparing and presenting training presentations for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience working in the road building or asphalt construction related industry either at the dealer level or contractor level is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of equipment is a requirement.
  • Prepare training presentations and deliver to large audiences.
  • Minimum 50% overnight travel required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for paving and milling jobsites.
  • Professional, High Energy, Self-Motivator with a strong outgoing personality.
