Minimum Qualifications
- 
Recent graduation with an Accounting major or 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience 
- 
Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization 
- 
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to JD Edwards and OnBase 
- 
Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and time-management skills 
- 
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines 
Preferred Qualification
- 
2+ years of hands-on accounting experience (if applying as a new graduate, relevant co-op/internship experience is an asset) 
- 
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (skills test may be required) 
Day in the Life
As a key member of our Finance department, you will support the daily accounting operations of our Corporate Finance team, beginning with full-cycle Accounts Receivable responsibilities, including issuing timely and accurate customer invoices, depositing cheques, and applying payments to invoices. You will also support Accounts Payable by verifying receipt of goods and services and processing payments accordingly. From there, you will perform daily bank reconciliation tasks by downloading bank statements and ensuring all balances are accurate and up to date.
In addition, you will manage intercompany transactions by ensuring compliance with internal policies, reconciling and posting entries for intercompany billings, and collaborating with subsidiary teams to resolve discrepancies. You will prepare and post journal entries as needed, assist with month-end close activities by ensuring all required entries are completed within deadlines, and provide support on additional accounting tasks and projects as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
