Day In the Life
The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all sales and commercial activities for the GTA Concrete business. This role is accountable for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring pricing discipline in a highly competitive concrete market.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the GTA Concrete sales team to achieve volume, margin, and growth goals.
- Set clear sales objectives aligned with plant capacity, operations, and market opportunities.
- Drive accountability through sales meetings, pipeline management, and performance tracking.
- Partner with Operations to balance demand, production schedules, and delivery execution.
- Build a high performance, results driven sales culture with strong market presence.
- Grow relationships with key contractors, developers, builders, and strategic accounts.
- Support major bids, negotiated contracts, and large project pursuits.
- Ensure disciplined, competitive pricing that protects margins.
- Act as an escalation point for customer issues in partnership with Operations and AR.
- Strengthen long term customer partnerships to secure repeat and multi project work.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute annual sales plans and forecasts with the General Manager.
- Support long term capacity planning through market intelligence and demand forecasting.
- Represent the business at industry events and networking forums.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning.
- Monitor performance against sales targets, margins, and volume commitments.
- Support credit management and collaborate with AR on customer accounts.
- Ensure adherence to commercial policies and risk controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Undergraduate)
- 8+ years in a similar role with a deep understanding of ready-mix concrete products, applications, and market dynamics
- Strong commercial acumen with pricing, margin, and contract negotiation expertise
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to align sales strategy with operational realities
- Results-driven, data-informed decision maker
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; CRM experience an asset
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the GTA
Compensation Data
Salary Range between $90,000 - $136,000
