Job Summary
Barrett Paving MWC is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Intern to support our finance team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in accounting, financial reporting, and business operations within the construction industry.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with processing invoices, expenses, and vendor payments
- Help prepare financial statements and reports
- Support the reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledger accounts
- Enter and maintain accurate data in accounting systems
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Help maintain and organize digital and physical financial records
- Participate in audits by preparing documentation and supporting materials
- Assist in analyzing financial data for budgeting and forecasting
- Collaborate with accounting staff to support daily accounting operations
- Complete other accounting or finance-related tasks as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Interest in construction, paving, or infrastructure industries is a plus
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with accounting systems or software is a plus
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
