Job Summary

HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has multiple openings for experienced and upbeat Asphalt Plant Crew Members.

HRI has asphalt plants located in the Johnstown, Reynoldsville, State College, Williamsport, Milton, and Bloomsburg areas. We are a leader in asphalt paving, products, and heavy civil construction.

A qualified candidate will have some experience running a hot mix asphalt plant, have good mechanical proficiency when it comes to repairing/ fabricating equipment or a combination of training and experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Visually and audibly supervise all plant processing equipment before, during and after operations.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing of materials pertaining to the needs of production.
  • Moves controls on panel board to load trucks
  • Observes gauges, dials, and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications.
  • Assist in the repair of the plant.
  • Schedule customers to production rates of plant.
  • Complete all needed paperwork daily.
  • General knowledge of JDE to assist the Plant Superintendent in making purchase orders and purchase order receipts
  • Maintain a positive and productive demeanor in-regards to company and customer outlook and goals to maintain positive employee morale. The promotion of good employee and customer relations is important to the success of the business.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
  • Valid drivers’ license with the ability to maintain a clean driving history

Skills

  • Previous experience and knowledge with asphalt/ plants and/or related fields preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
  • Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance, use hands to move and manipulate objects, and communicate (talk and hear)
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise, all outdoor weather conditions, dust, fuel, oil, other chemicals, and airborne particles
  • Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, overtime as required
