Day in a life
Reporting to the project manager, you will assist with overall project(s)performance including costs, schedule, quality, and project status. This involves supporting operations of the projects and maintaining positive relationships with the crews, sub-contractors and clients.
Along with that you will complete necessary documentation such as progress payment certificates and subcontractor payments. You will ensure to adhere to regulations for construction projects. You will also assist with planning of work schedules; additionally you will also supervise crews
Your days will revolve around reviewing key project milestones and resolving any urgent issues.
The overarching objective of your role will be to ensure meeting strict deadlines while maintain high standards of the project and client satisfaction.

Requirements
- Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma or Construction Technician/Management Diploma is an asset
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Possess strong mathematical and computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office, MS Project Sidetrack and Bid2Win, or equivalent programs)
- Knowledge of construction, with ability to read plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of MTO specifications and practices including the understanding of OPSS, OPSD & MTOD, MTO contract experience is an asset.
- Candidates must possess a strong work ethic.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills/time management skills.
- Vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Good understanding of budgets, costing and time tracking.
- Willing to work flexible hours determined by demanding construction schedules, including nights and/or weekends.
