G&C Asphalt, a subsiduary of N.P.A., a division of Colas Western Canada Inc.is hiring for a Grader/ Trackhoe Operator for the 2025 construction season!

Key Responsibilities

Operate equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary.
Operate Grader controls to regulate height and angle of the Grader blade and lower scarifier to loosen packed soil to permit grading.
Ensure a solid understanding of ground disturbance practices and issues involved.
Navigate equipment through working area, observing reference stakes or hand signals of workers.
Operate equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one's surroundings.
Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the equipment.
Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
Other labour and operation related duties as required.

Qualifications | Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
Class 5 driver's license required
Minimum 3 years' experience within the road construction industry
Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience operating equipment is required

Working Conditions

Weather dependent schedule of Monday to Saturday, up to 12 hours per day. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50LBs on a regular basis.
User of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
