Are you an experienced equipment operator?  Do you specialize in Grader and Trackhoe Equipment?  Are you looking to be a part of a company that values your contributions and can provide continuous opportunities for growth?  G&C Asphalt, a subsiduary of N.P.A., a division of Colas Western Canada Inc.is hiring for a Grader/ Trackhoe Operator for the 2025 construction season! 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary.
  • Operate Grader controls to regulate height and angle of the Grader blade and lower scarifier to loosen packed soil to permit grading.
  • Ensure a solid understanding of ground disturbance practices and issues involved.
  • Navigate equipment through working area, observing reference stakes or hand signals of workers.
  • Operate equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one's surroundings.
  • Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the equipment.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
  • Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
  • Other labour and operation related duties as required.

Qualifications | Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Class 5 driver's license required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within the road construction industry
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience operating equipment is required

Working Conditions

  • Weather dependent schedule of Monday to Saturday, up to 12 hours per day.  Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50LBs on a regular basis.
  • User of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
  • Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
