Summary

G&C Asphalt/ E Construction is now hiring an experienced Roller Operator for various worksites throughout Saskatchewan for the 2025 construction season!

The role of Finish Roller Operator will operate the roller in a safe and efficient manner, while playing an important role in our road building process by compressing and finishing the asphalt application by smoothing and cooling the asphalt.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the roller and other heavy equipment in a safe manner.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
Determine the speed and direction of the machines so that ridges do not form from excessive pressure.
Use hand roller or portable power roller to pound surfaces not accessible to road roller.
Operate self-propelled steel-wheeled or other types of rollers.
Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the roller.
Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
Other construction related duties as required.

Qualifications | Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
Class 5 Driver's License.
Minimum of 2 years' experience within the road construction industry.
2-3 years' experience operating a roller, finish roller experience is preferred.

Working Conditions

Weather dependent schedule of Monday to Saturday, up to 12 hours per day. Overtime is paid in accordance with local employment standards legislation.
Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Out of town travel may be required. Accommodations and Live Out Allowance (LOA) is applicable in most situations.
Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50LBS on a regular basis.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
