Miller Maintenance proudly provides maintenance services on Maintenance Contracts for the Ministry of Transportation throughout Ontario. Minimum Qualifications:

  • DZ or AZ license with a clean driver’s abstract/CVOR
  • Previous winter patrolling experience and familiarity with local highways
  • Strong knowledge of Schedule 1 and how to perform vehicle inspections
  • Ability to work various shifts and hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
  • Knowledge of CVOR requirements and MTO and MOL regulations, ability to complete MTO forms and reports
  • Mechanically inclined

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties such a patrolling, patching, and minor equipment maintenance

Day in the Life

As a Winter Coordinator, you will be an integral member of our winter maintenance team. This role will require you to be both in the field and the office. Mechanical aptitude is essential as you will review and be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of plow trucks including reviewing each truck post storm, informing the head mechanic of any repairs needed, troubleshooting minor errors, completing monthly paperwork and fluid level tracking and record keeping to ensure overall readiness of the equipment.  As well, you will train and shadow staff on ERU, Winter Patrolling, Paperwork, Plow Operation, and Duties.

 

Strong organizational skills will be essential as you liaise with the MTO, completing forms and reports, scheduling and maintaining operator hours. You will also ensure all AMDCS systems are in working condition at all times. You will review operator performance and correct any actions where necessary, as it is integral to fulfill MTO obligations and records.

 

Flexibility will be a key component of this role as you will be splitting time between multiple yards, assisting the Patrol Supervisor with daily activities. You must be readily available for call in’s and provide support to the team at any given time as you will be present during large winter events.
