Compensation
$70,000 - $85,000 Plus Great Benefits!
Job Summary
The Logistics Supervisor will oversee onsite operations, maintenance, scheduling, dispatching, and production at a specified location, including the coordination of customer orders, batching, and supervision of onsite personnel.
Main Responsibilities
SAFETY
- Actively engaging in company safety programs, including attending safety briefings, participating in one-on-one safety discussions, and promptly reporting any close calls or near misses.
- Promoting a culture of safety by making informed and safe decisions during all mechanical tasks.
- Contributing to the investigation of safety incidents related to mechanical work and ensuring that all recommended corrective actions are implemented.
- Adhering to all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, Motor Vehicle Safety Policy, and Drug & Alcohol Policies, while working on fleet vehicles and equipment
- Logistics supervisor will not reduce wages/hours of unionized employees.
QUALITY
- Maintain manageable delivery schedules for dispatchers and drivers.
- Optimize daily driver schedules for efficiency.
- Understand customer needs and the team’s geographic capabilities.
- Prioritize quality customer service and quick responses.
- Ensure accurate order entry and details.
- Provide customers with correct products and pricing per their requests.
- Maintain product consistency.
- Use appropriate raw materials.
- Ensure consistent control measures.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in equipment maintainability and reliability.
Functional Skills
FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL
- Collaborate with sister sites to maximize deliveries and minimize missed or cancelled delivery opportunities.
- Coordinate and schedule concrete deliveries.
- Address scheduling issues due to plant breakdowns or job site challenges.
- Maintain sufficient inventory of materials, including additives, fuel, and cement, to meet daily production needs, and report accurate monthly inventory to Regional Office.
- Manage supplies and equipment for maintenance.
- Ensure efficient plant operations regarding fuel and power usage.
- Maintain cleanliness of the plant.
- Develop maintenance budgets.
- Understand and manage Key Performance Indicators, communicating suggested improvements to the Superintendents and Concrete Manager
- Ensure 100% tracking and reporting of all customer request.
- Effectively manage and reduce labor cost by creating efficient operation practices
- Create and maintain community relationships to grow business footprint.
- Support various components of the organization during the winter months
Teamwork and Collaboration
TEAMWORK/COMMUNICATION

- Oversee the responsibilities of Ready-Mix Drivers, including hiring, discipline, terminations, and development.
- Adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

- Maintain open communication with the Concrete Manager, Quality Control, and Sales Representatives.

- Assist in the development and training of the Ready-Mix team.
Education and Minimum Experience
- 3-5 years of resource management and reporting
- 1-3 years of Supervisory Experience
- Unionized Workforce Experience
- HS Diploma or GED
Work Environment
- Significant site involvement during the Spring and Summer months.
- Hours vary dependent on customer needs
- Ability to sit for extended periods
Out of town travel possible w/ trainings/seminars.
