Mission
Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking a Surveyor Instrument Person for its Savannah, GA location. The Surveyor Instrument Person's primary function is to assist Survey Chief with survey operations. The Surveyor Instrument Person is responsible for total station setup and operating electronic data collectors.
Main Responsibilities
- Assists the Surveyor Party Chief in a variety of engineering survey functions, including construction layout with the use of various surveying methods.
- Sets up, adjust, and operate surveying equipment.
- Works with plans to establish points and grades for construction.
- Assists with mathematical calculations required to reduce and check survey data.
- Assists with checking field notes and data for accuracy.
- Assists other survey crews (if necessary).
- May perform other related duties as required.
- Frequent travel to various construction worksites.
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience in civil and transportation related surveying (preferred).
- Proficiency with GPS, robotics, and conventional survey equipment / Leica, Spectra, and Topcon(preferred)
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Valid driver's license (required).
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Must possess a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
- Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rugged, rural or urban surroundings.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
- Required to stand for long periods of time and/or walk long distances.
