Summary:  The Human Resources Coordinator provides support to the HR department in a variety of HR administrative duties, including candidate sourcing and recruiting, employee records maintenance and HRIS  administration, training, and other general HR functional areas.  This position handles highly confidential information. 

The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of human resources competencies and functional areas, and have the ability to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure assigned responsibilities and projects are completed within established timelines.  To be successful in the role, top candidates will be familiar using HR software and tools, and comfortable interacting with employees at all levels.    In addition, a best-fit candidate will enjoy this role if he/she prefers mostly task-oriented, administrative work requiring attention to detail, with the opportunity to work on stretch assignments and projects in order to develop his/her HR skill-set.



  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance employees and supervisors and answer general questions regarding HR programs and policies
  • Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits etc.)
  • Redirect HR related calls and/or distribute mail and e-mail correspondence to the appropriate person on the team
  • Maintain records of personnel-related data via established HRIS and electronic filing systems to ensure all employment record-keeping requirements are met
  • Act as subject matter expert for HRIS system functionality in assigned areas and provide support and training
  • Support the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, coordinating recruiting events, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting and pre-screens, issuing employment offer letters, etc.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding functions, perform orientations, and update records with new hire information
  • Assist with employee off-boarding tasks, including distribution of exit questionnaires and related information
  • Provide assistance to Coordinate training sessions and seminars; assist with administration of apprenticeship program 
  • Produce, submit, and interpret reports on general HR activity
  • Assist with ad-hoc HR projects and support other functions as assigned


Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience: 

  • Associates degree in business administration, HR, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience as an HR coordinator, or other relevant human resources/administrative position 
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices; ability to handle confidential information
  • Proven Office 365 experience (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook)
  • Experience with HR databases, HRIS, and applicant tracking system software, including data input, report writing, and administration preferred (we use JD Edwards and SAP products)
  • Knowledge of sourcing tools, including resume databases, online communities, and social media
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; willing to present information in front of a group
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data
  • Time management and organizational skills – able to complete work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team to collaborate on projects
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification a plus
  • Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing ability (English - Spanish) a plus 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

  • Most work performed in a standard office environment; required to sit or stand for long periods working on a computer
  • Frequently required to communicate professionally in-person, over the phone, and via e-mail
  • Regularly required to use hands to manipulate objects such as files, paperwork and office tools/equipment
  • Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds with or without assistance
  • Some travel (up to 25%) may be required to visit job sites, meetings, training, and/or recruiting events
  • Required to wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines when visiting job sites
