The Laborer performs all vital daily duties to keep our plants/crushing systems running by constantly touring, observing, and maintaining all working parts of the facilities, and plays an imperative role - increasing plant uptime and minimizing downtime through constant, thorough, and effective routine maintenance procedures. 

Laborer Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Perform tasks as outlined by the supervisor and meet expectations for each specific project.
  • Maintain grounds (grass weeds, fences, gate areas and rails/rail ties).
  • Operate and maintain various vehicles, machinery and other equipment used at the site.
  • Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
  • Responsible for upkeep of tools and work area.

Laborer Skills

  • Previous field experience in asphalt manufacturing, concrete manufacturing, or construction is preferred.

  • Possess knowledge and abilities to perform general repairs on plant equipment using standard industrial tools and understanding of mechanical systems.

  • Able to operate mobile equipment associated with plant operations including: skid steer, front end loader, dump truck, manlift.

  • Good communication skills and ability to take direction for work to perform and proven ability to work with others as a team.

  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Responsible, reliable and dependable
     

Laborer Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to: kneel, climb, bend, stoop and crawl.
  • Push, carry, and lift 75 pounds or more.


Laborer Schedule

  • Monday - Friday from 6 am - 5 /6 pm (varies)
  • Occasional weekend shift
  • Seasonal (usually March/April through mid-November, but varies)
  • Position anticipated to begin the middle of March for the 2024 season.


Laborer Compensation

  • Starting New Hire rate starts at $21.45 and will move to $24.24 after the successful completion of the probationary period.
