Position Summary
We are looking for a Talent Development & Acquisition Manager to take ownership of recruitment and talent management at McAsphalt. This stand-alone role is responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment while also shaping career development and workforce capability initiatives. You will act as both a hands-on recruiter and a strategic partner to divisional leaders and HR Business Partners (HRBPs), ensuring we attract, develop, and retain the talent needed to achieve our business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Lead the full recruitment process for all levels of roles — posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing, and managing offers.
- Build strong partnerships with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and deliver timely, high-quality hiring outcomes.
- Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies and job boards as needed.
- Track and report on recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, quality of hire).
- Ensure all recruitment practices support McAsphalt’s values and DEI commitments.
Talent Development
- Partner with HRBPs and divisional leaders to identify critical capability needs and development priorities.
- Support divisional and corporate talent review processes by maintaining talent profiles, pipelines, and succession plans.
- Facilitate creation of individual development plans and ensure integration with broader capability-building efforts.
- Provide coaching to leaders and employees on career planning and development opportunities.
- Track and monitor progress of development initiatives and share insights with leadership.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and optimize recruiting tools, job descriptions, and selection processes.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of practical, scalable talent programs that enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Monitor workforce data and metrics to identify gaps and recommend solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Psychology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of HR or talent experience, with at least 3 years in full-cycle recruitment.
- Bilingualism (English/French) required
- Experience in workforce planning, succession management, or career development.
- Strong interviewing, sourcing, and candidate assessment skills.
- Ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); HRIS/ATS experience preferred (SuccessFactors an asset).
