Job Summary:

Responsible for scheduling and coordination of transportation to deliver aggregate, paving, equipment and other supplies. Coordinates trucking operations by working closely with internal/external customers, sales, and operations personnel

Main Responsibilities:

•    Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
•    Support, promote, and practice the Company’s core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies 
•    Plan and coordinate trucking dispatch and scheduling while targeting utilization efficiency and profitability
•    Maintain regular communications with drivers and customers to ensure delivery deadlines are met
•    Plan and coordinate required repair and preventative maintenance on trucking equipment
•    Collaborate with other employees, internal/external customers/suppliers, and local/state/federal representatives
•    Relay work orders, messages, or information to work crews, supervisors, or field inspectors using cell phone or two-way radios
•    Conduct routine safety inspections/observations at job sites
•    Manage and maintain trucking revenue spreadsheet; submit pro-rate sheets and timecards
•    Create GeoZones and shifts in FleetWatcher software to track job progress and efficiency
•    Formulate oversize and overweight permits to meet DOT guidelines; ensure loads are meeting height and width requirements as well as route verfication

Education:

•    High school diploma or equivalent preferred
•    Class A CDL with endorsements and valid medical card preferred

Skills:

•    1-3 years of practical experience as a Trucking Foreman, Dispatcher, or similar environment
•    Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated requiring minimal direct guidance
•    Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of people
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment with frequent deadlines.
•    Basic computer skills using MS Office and similar programs; experience using dispatching programs a plus

Physical Requirements:

•    Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
•    Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    Required to work from a seated position for extended periods using a computer in an office environment
•    Required to safely operate various vehicles and equipment related to requirements of the role
•    Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile device
•    Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
•    Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
•    Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
•    Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles; exposure to high temperatures
•    Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
