Job Summary:

Responsible for testing and inspection of aggregate, asphalt, concrete and/or emulsions products produced and delivered to internal and external customers.

Main Responsibilities:

•    Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
•    Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies 
•    Read, understand, and demonstrate working knowledge of the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt industry
•    Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary
•    Ensure that accurate test results are reported in a timely manner; review and analyze test results to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications 
•    Conduct assigned work in according to company policies, regulatory agency guidance and compliance standards
•    Safely operate company vehicles to travel to other offices and work locations as necessary

Education:

•    High School diploma or equivalent; associates degree in related discipline preferred
•    ACI and DOT testing certified, or ability to become certified within 1 year; other certifications may be required
•    Valid driver's license and ability to maintain clean driving record required

Skills:

•    Prior experience related to quality control methods, materials production, construction processes and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
•    Prior experience performing quality control testing of aggregates, asphalt and/or ready-mix concrete highly preferred
•    Ability to learn and interpret applicable reference and testing material manuals and specifications governed by federal, state and local testing agencies, to include DOT, ASTM, and AASHTO standards
•    Ability to read, write and understand English, and communicate effectively with employees at all levels
•    Ability to work with team to resolve technical issues 
•    Basic computer skills including use of MS Office Products

Physical Requirements:

•    Wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE) required
•    Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    Regularly required to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects
•    Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) 
•    Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
•    Frequently required to stand/work on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
•    Work performed indoors and outdoors; noise exposure varies from quiet to loud
•    Frequent exposure to working around moving equipment and machinery, dust, chemicals, and all types of weather

Benefits and Perks:

Compensation*: $21-$26/Hour DOE

 

*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual’s qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
