Job Summary
Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. We are currently looking for a Mill Operator out of our Tonawanda, NY location. The pay rate for this position starts at $21.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform all Terminal flow procedures; Operate the emulsion mill, without supervision
- Meet and maintain production quotas; Perform emulsion formulation and soap formulation
- Perform basic equipment maintenance; Assist with troubleshooting of all plant operations
- Conduct advanced preventative and specific plant maintenance tasks
- Perform Emulsion production, including troubleshooting of production operations
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of manufacturing procedures for company emulsion, asphalt and Houseguard products
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the chemistry and properties of company emulsion, asphalt and Houseguard products
- Perform chemical truck shipping and receiving function
- Must maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Punctuality is a must
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Mechanical experience a plus
- Must be proficient in math, computer and communication skills
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
- Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions.
- Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
- This position will require some late nights and weekend shifts
