Mission
Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is looking to hire a Quarry Project Manager in Prince Rupert, BC.
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quarry operations of up to one million tones per year, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects related to the extraction and processing of materials. This role also involves managing sales and quoting processes to ensure that customer requirements are met while maintaining profitability. The Project Manager ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Main Responsibilities
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for quarry operations.
• Coordinate and manage all aspects of quarry projects, including resource allocation, procurement, and logistics.
• Lead and supervise project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration among team members.
• Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals to optimize extraction processes and resource management.
• Manage the sales process, including identifying potential clients and opportunities for quarry materials.
• Prepare accurate and competitive quotes for customers, ensuring alignment with project costs and profit margins.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements that can improve quarry operations and sales processes.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Geology, or a related field. Recommended but not required.
• Proven experience in project management, sales, or business development, preferably in the construction or mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of quarry operations, materials processing, and sales strategies.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software, sales tools, and quoting systems.
• Understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
Working Conditions
• Work is primarily conducted on-site in a quarry environment, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and heavy machinery.
• Occasional travel may be required for project assessments, client meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
Compensation Data
The anticipated salary range for this position is $92,700 to $113,300 CAD annually. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
