We are seeking a dynamic Environment Health & Safety Intern to join our crew and advance the success of our projects; our dynamic internship program, spans from May to August, offering rotations across diverse locations and projects, facilitating hands-on experience in Environment Health & Safety management.
As an intern, you will shadow our safety team to ensure a secure and safe work environment for all employees involved in road construction projects, asphalt manufacturing plants, and our quarries. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management within the construction industry.
Environment Health & Safety Interns, support safety and health management policies; responsibilities include: inspections, audits, recordkeeping, and adherence to regulatory standards such as OSHA, MSHA, USDOT, EPA, and state/local regulations.

Compensation
$20/Hour
Main Responsibilities

Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a strong environment of safety awareness.

Maintain Goal Zero program, conduct Toolbox Talks, and lead safety meetings.

Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.

Manage claims, support continuous improvement projects.

Contribute to planning annual Safety and HR training.

Oversee compliance inspections, lead Monthly Safety Committee meetings.

Assist in Continuous Process Improvement Projects and support environmental initiatives.

Promote the development of safety awareness campaigns and initiatives.

Work closely with the Safety Specialist to understand our safety program and the importance of Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) & Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.

Support the safety team in delivering safety huddles.

Handling critical or confidential information with honesty and integrity.

Confirmed understanding of safety regulations and guidelines.

Detailed with strong organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Education
Enrolled in a relevant safety management, occupational health and safety, or related Bachelor’s degree program
Physical Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Some travel required
