We are looking for a motivated intern to join Barrett Paving Materials' dynamic internship program, crafted for current Mining Engineering students, providing immersive exposure to the aggregate business.

This internship spans from May to August, offering hands-on experience in aggregate manufacturing.

 

Compensation

 

$20/hour

Main Responsibilities

  • Apply theoretical knowledge to real-world mining engineering scenarios.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, at various levels of the organization.

  • Maintain organized records and documentation related to mining engineering activities.

  • Safety conscience and safety oriented.

  • Perform data analysis and calculations.

  • An understanding of several types of software programs such as AutoCAD, Aggflow, Excel, GIS Mapping

Skills

  • Able to walk, stand and sit for periods of time

  • Ability to preform work in various weather conditions

  • Available to work various shifts

  • Climbing steps and into equipment may be required to preform duties

  • Lifting and carry items, as needed.

  • Driving company vehicles when needed.

Education

Mining Engineer, or related field of study.

Physical Requirements

  • Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as per company safety guidelines.

  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Regular use of hands for material inspection and manipulation.

  • Comfort working in proximity to heavy equipment and machinery, with exposure to loud noise and varying weather conditions.
