Barrett Paving Materials Inc. specializes in aggregates, asphalt production as well as a heavy highway extension in road construction. Barrett has strong local ties backed by global resources, focusing on quality and value to deliver the best products and services for our clients. 




Operates a Pit Loader including but not limited to a front end loader to move materials related to aggregate operations.



•    Support the Barrett  safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives

•    Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly

•    Operate heavy equipment, including, but not limited to,  front end loaders in support of production operations while safely loading Euclid (Rock)Trucks, sorting, stockpiling  materials

•    Operate other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks

•    Perform daily minor equipment maintenance inspections such as greasing, checking oil and fluids as well as maintenance on the aggregate plant.




Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience: 

•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

•    Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience perferred but not necessary for a candidate willing to learn the position

•    Valid drivers’ license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required

•    Welding skills and Mechnical skills are valuable. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

•    Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

•    Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

•    Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel

•    Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) 

•    Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 

•    Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain

•    Regularly required to work from a seated position operating equipment for long periods

•    Frequent exposure to loud noise 

•    Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration

•    Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
