Job Summary

The Trucking Coordinator will manage, material delivery transportation needed to efficiently perform assigned projects while being aligned with all safety standards. The successful candidate will coordinate with locations and job site superintendents to assure that adequate trucks are scheduled daily.

Safety

  • Actively engaging in company safety programs, including attending safety briefings, participating in one-on-one safety discussions, and promptly reporting any close calls or near misses.
  • Promoting a culture of safety by making informed safe decisions during all physical tasks.
  • Adhering to all safety policies and procedures, Motor Vehicle Safety Policy, and Drug & Alcohol Policies,

Quality

  • Focusing on quality customer service and efficient response
  • Ensuring proper order entry and scheduling detail
  • Keeping manageable delivery schedules for the drivers
  • Understanding needs of customers and geographic capabilities for our team
  • Assure trucks are compliant to hire

Functional/Technical Abilities

  • Receiving orders for materials
  • Coordinating and scheduling deliveries
  • Ensuring customers get accurate product and pricing based on their bid or request
  • Entering all payment data necessary for customer
  • Fielding calls for other plants and locations

Teamwork/Communication

  • Ensuring an open line of communication between the Site Supervisor, Quality Control, and Owners
  • Ensuring high level of customer service, building positive relationships with customers

Education And Minimum Experience

  • Must have experience in NYSDOT transportation and truck dispatching operations management.
  • Typically requires an associate’s degree or 5-7 years of proven ability and NYSDOT experience

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Varied hours during season March-December
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Out of town travel possible w/ trainings/seminars

  • Effectively communicate with subcontractors, employees and management
  • Must comply with company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
  • Proven track record with working safely
  • Collaborate with sister sites to maximize deliveries and minimize missed or cancelled delivery opportunities
  • Address scheduling issues due to plant breakdowns and job site challenges
