Imbt founded a small construction company in State College, Pennsylvania with only a few pieces of equipment.  During the following decades, HRI, Inc., as the company was later renamed, expanded geographically to cover areas outside of central Pennsylvania, including much of Central, Eastern, and Western Pennsylvania.  Operations also expanded to include paving, water, sewer, airport, highway, and bridge projects as well as asphalt plants. In 1999, HRI, Inc. was purchased by Colas, Inc., a worldwide leader in the construction industry, with numerous construction businesses throughout the United States.  Today, HRI, Inc. benefits from being part of a much larger organization while maintaining local control over our activities and the close ties to the communities we serve. Summary:     Operates Hot Mix Asphalt plant to produce various asphalt oils and emulsions; maintains equipment

Responsibilities:
•    Support the HRI safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
•    Assists internal and external customers with ordering
•    Reads incoming paperwork to insure proper materials are being delivered
•    Safely and properly operate Asphalt Plant
•    Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges
•    Trace product and raw material lines to ensure proper transfers
•    Check temperature and PSI of oil heater and adjust as necessary
•    Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication
•    Perform plant and line maintenance including repair and replacement of valves, motors, bearings, gaskets, shafts, gauges, etc.
•    Records operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in logbook
•    Complete daily production reports with details such as time, temperature and quantity
•    Clean facilities by sweeping, shoveling, scraping spills, etc.
•    Ensures materials and/or supplies on-hand for next day construction projects

•    Travel to other work locations as necessary

Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience: 
•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
•    One to three months related asphalt experience and/or training preferred, but not required
•    Valid drivers’ license with clean driving history required
•    Ability to provide customer service
•    Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
•    Must be dependable and reliable for all work shifts
•    Must be available for various shifts
•    Some travel to other work locations may be required

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 
•    Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
•    Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    Regularly required to communicate
•    Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
•    Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
•    Frequent exposure to loud noise 
•    Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
•    Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
