NWT Construction is currently hiring a Truck Driver for the 2025 Construction season!
The Truck Driver operates trucks and equipment to deliver or remove bulk aggregates and asphalt to and from the work sites. The Truck Driver is responsible for regular maintenance and inspections of haul trucks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating highway dump trucks to haul city projects.
- Safely navigate busy job sites with other workers and equipment, while always maintaining awareness of surroundings.
- Operate Skid Steer and other equipment as needed.
- Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
- Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
- Other operating and labour related duties as required.
Qualifications | Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Class 3 or Class 5 driver's license with air endorsement required
- Minimum 3-5 years road construction experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating dump trucks
Working Conditions
- Weather dependent schedule of Monday to Saturday, consisting of up to 12 hours. Overtime is paid in accordance with local employment standards legislation.
- Out of town travel may be required, accommodations and Live Out Allowance may be applicable.
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
