Service Writer

Job Summary

Based out of the Acheson Shop, the primary responsibilities for the Service Writer are to provide quality and timely clerical support services to Shop Forepersons and to ensure the equipment division is supported and accurate records are kept. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a solid understanding of construction services and equipment.

Job Duties:
•    Positively participate in company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements.
•    Serve as point of contact for operations and shop, relay messages to foreperson if required.
•    Accurately document service requests, inquiries, and customer interactions in the system of record.
•    Schedule service appointments and coordinate with forepersons to prioritize service requests.
•    Communicate effectively with customers regarding the status of their service requests and follow up as needed.
•    Assist in resolving issues in a timely manner.
•    Maintain records of service transactions and ensure documentation is complete and organized.
•    Collaborate with other departments to ensure needs are met promptly and efficiently.
•    Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and report generation.
•    Participate in record retention and filing as required.
•    Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
•    Candidate must have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a related position.
•    Strong organizational skills (record keeping, time management, follow up).
•    Strong computer literacy and an ability to adapt and learn new software.
•    Knowledge of JDE and MS Office will be an asset.
•    Knowledge of vehicles and equipment will be an asset.
•    Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
•    Able to process and enter high volume of data, work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
•    Attention to detail in all areas of work.
•    Successfully meet all safety requirements including pre-employment drug, alcohol, and fitness to work testing relevant to the position requirements.

Working Conditions
•    Frequent sitting and manual dexterity required to use desktop computer.
•    Travel may be required for training.
•    Occasional overtime work as required.
