Mission
Reeves Construction is seeking a Project Manager with heavy highway construction or alternative delivery experience. The Project Manager is responsible for providing leadership and management to assigned projects in a safe, profitable, and timely manner. The Project Manager negotiates vendors, pricing, utilizing budgets, and schedule requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Read and understand plans and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs.
- Perform solicitations to Vendors and Subcontractors.
- Work on project site to observe progression.
- Able to generate change orders for the project using estimating software.
- Transfer of information from estimating software to job cost software.
- Communicate roll out of projects with Project Manager, Superintendent and field personnel.
- Perform safety requirements and ensure that risks are mitigated.
- Perform submittals to agencies as required for construction of project.
- Review and analyze job cost information â verify accurate and complete, address and or correct as necessary.
- Communicate with Project Manager and Superintendent on a regular basis to ensure project issues and concerns are addressed.
- Generate billing quantities from information provided by field personnel and contractual requirements.
- Provide clear step-by-step directions and answer questions while organizing the project.
- Able to work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of the companyâs policies.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends if required.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous heavy civil construction / alternative delivery experience (preferred)
- Project Management experience (preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; preferably in construction management or civil engineering
- Knowledgeable in and proven abilities with estimating in a heavy civil construction type environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have ability to interact with external and internal customers and partners in a fast pace, multitasking environment, working independently with a high degree of problem solving
- Proficiency in use of Excel, Word, HCSS / JDE, Primavera P6, and experience with an estimating package helpful
