Summary
Standard General Calgary is preparing for the upcoming 2024 Construction Season.
We are looking for laborers to support our construction teams by through a variety of physical tasks.
Laborers work in the following divisions:
- Asphalt Plant
- Base/Surface
- Concrete
- Paving
- Underground
- Utilities
Main Responsibilities
- Load, unload and transport construction materials
- Assist heavy equipment operators
- Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed
- Dig ditches and trenches using shovels and other hand tools
- Variety of manual laborer tasks
- Clean up and clear construction sites
- Other related duties a required
Qualifacations
- Own transportation;
- Valid driver's license (class 5)
Work Experience
- Knowledge of the construction industry an asset
- Some road building construction experience is an asset
- Ability to work as a part of a team and independently
- Reliable
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Overtime work as required
- Able to perform repetitive tasks
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks
