Purpose of the Role

 

To assist the Delivery Team and help ensure the safe delivery of Track Renewals and Enhancement work packages in compliance with the appropriate Company/Network Rail Group and Line Standards and Safety Legislation.  This is a 30 hour minimum/ week on going contract.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for planning and directing the activities of fellow track staff in a safe and productive manner.
  • Assist and drive work in accordance with Alliance procedures producing the required outputs to support effective and robust delivery of the works to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Safety Legislation and Welfare Regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring works are undertaken by competent staff.
  • Ensure maximum utilisation of resources in delivery of all works.
  • Ensure all staff have the necessary skills and are competent to undertake all duties safely, efficiently and to an agreed Specification.
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely in accordance with Rules, Regulations and appropriate Safety Legislation.
  • Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with the Task Brief and any deviations from the planned methodology are risk assessed, approved, recorded, re-briefed and delivered in a safe and timely manner.

Person Specification

 

  • In depth knowledge of Track Renewals P-Way discipline.
  • Excellent Leadership skills- previous experience of Track Charge Person.
  • Excellent knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAW and other appropriate regulations, including Group Standards.
  • Ability to drive
  • PTS, ICI, Lookout, Small Tools, Safeloader, First Aider, COSS / SWL1, Protection Controller (PC), Level Crossing Attendant (LXA), Points Operator (PO), Plant Operative Supervisor (POS), Machine Controller (MC), Crane Controller (CC), Tandem Lifter (TL), ES / SWL2.
  • Inform the management and mitigation of programme risks and compliance with the requirements of DWWP, Safety Verification, QRSA and scheme readiness.

This is an on-going contract role with a minimum of 30 hours per week and no end date.
