Asphalt Roller Operator - Columbia, SC

Mission

Reeves Construction Company is looking for "Experienced" Roller Operators based out of Columbia, SC.  Qualified candidates must be able to effectively run a roller for the compaction of asphalt and/or dirt and other materials for road and commercial construction. Asphalt Roller Operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site.

Main Responsibilities

• Adhere to Reeves Company safety programs to ensure a safe work environment
• The ability to operate a steel wheel roller or rubber-tired roller
• Have an accurate and working knowledge of a roller
• Be able to oil, grease and fueling  of roller
• Operate roller at a good speed to maximum first compaction
• Make sure asphalt/dirt/materials is rolled to specifications of roller pattern
• Willingness and ability to keep roller maintained and clean
• Willingness to work nights and weekends
• Operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of experience
• Experience working in and around construction equipment
• Driving License (preferred)

• Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. 
• The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
