Terus Construction a division of Colas Western Canada Inc, is seeking an Asphalt Plant Groundperson. This position is based in Crescent Valley, BC.
Duties/Tasks
- Safely unload hot oil form the delivery trucks.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Operate front end loader, skid steer or other heavy equipment.
- Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Shovel asphalt and other plant materials.
- Responsible for plant production of materials, and ensures the efficient working condition of the plant.
- Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Ensure the timely delivery of oil, fuel, aggregates and supplies to the plant.
- Assists with stockpiling materials and feed the plant from the stockpiles in an efficient and productive manner.
- Operate front end loader, skid steer or other heavy equipment.
- Perform set up and take down of plants at different job sites as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience within the road construction industry
- 1 to 2 years as an Asphalt Plant Labourer, preferred.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean current drivers abstract.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics and equipment repair.
- Knowledge of welding equipment, tools and methods
