Job Summary

Barrett Paving Materials Inc., Internship program is designed to educate the candidate (current college student) about the different aspects of the aggregate business

Main Responsibilities

  • Spend extensive field time at our aggregate facilities to gain experience in mining operations, and the processing of aggregates
  • Work closely with the Geologist to understand the total mining process and planning
  • Complete a mutually beneficial project
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
  • Learning how to work as part of the region team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company

Skills

  • Basic math skills with ability to calculate and analyze data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Good organizational skills
  • The ability to work well with all levels of the organizations
  • Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
  • Some travel required

Education

  • Enrolled in a Mining Engineer Bachelor’s degree program
