Job Description:

The Colas Innovation Manager is looking for an innovative Developer to join the team. We require strong communication skills, ongoing interaction with strategic business counterparts, detailed requirements analysis/design, and development of internal web applications utilizing the .Net Framework, JQuery and MS SQL Server.


As a developer, you will be part of our Innovation Team, interacting directly with our Innovation Manager and our internal customers on a daily basis to provide support in bringing ideas to life.



  • Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of business requirements, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users.
  • Research and document requirements of software users.



  • Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of development efforts.
  • Ability to coordinate with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.


Operational Management

  • Coordinate with IT administrators, business analysts to assist in resolving problems with software products and systems. User support, troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Design, run and monitor software programs and applications according to specifications.
  • Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.
  • Perform analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
  • Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines.
  • Install software products for end users as required.
  • Prepare training materials and train end users to operate new or modified programs.
  • Present professionally at executive presentations



  • College degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and or equivalent work experience.



  • Software Development Experience - 1+ years
  • 1+ years expertise with the design, prototyping, development, testing, and production support of MS SQL Server and Microsoft PowerApps
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Power Applications, Microsoft Suite, Sequel Server
  • Basic mobile application development skills
  • Experience effectively communicating and training business users on software solutions
  • Design, coding, testing and debugging skills
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies
  • Understanding of Object Orientated Analysis and Design and Component analysis
  • Must have time management skills and be able to work within allocated timeframes/schedules
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow things through
  • The ability to present and absorb complex ideas quickly and accurately
  • An ability to balance multiple time-critical tasks
