Summary

Reporting to the Equipment Manager, and working closely with Operations, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the moves of asphalt plants, crushing plants, and heavy equipment to various job sites withing Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and track the delivery of plants and heavy equipment to job sites.
  • Coordinator with the Equipment Manager and the company's divisions to arrange the delivery of plants and heavy equipment to job sites.
  • Familiar with the process of applying for permits needed to haul oversized loads.
  • Assist truck drivers with loading/ unloading plants and heavy equipment.
  • Resolve trucking issues as they arise.
  • Some driving may be required.
  • Ensure proper load securement practices.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Department to ensure proper paperwork is completed for NCO compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of haul logs.
  • Assist in the hiring and rehiring process of seasonal truck drivers.
  • Maintain up to date listing of equipment and assigned drivers/ operators.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
  • Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
  • Promote execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Participate as an integral member of the team, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.
  • Collaborate with project teams on other special initatives, as requested.

Qualifications | Requirements

  • High school diploma, preferred,
  • Post secondary education in Business Administration, or related discipline is a strong asset.
  • Class 1 Driver's License is required.
  • Experience with loading and hauling asphalt plants, crushers, and heavy equipment.
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in a Logistics role.
  • Experience with JDE and HeavyJob programs considered an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Overnight and out of town travel may be required on occasions.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Work is primarily performed in an indoor setting, which could include sitting or standing for extended periods of time, and extended computer use, including exposure to blue-light and wrist dexterity.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
