Job Summary

As a member of the recycle/reclamation crew, the operator is expected to safely and efficiently operate various pieces of mobile equipment as noted below. Activities include completing pre-trip inspections, operating equipment while completing site related reclamation activities.

 

As a member of the recycle team, the operator will be required to assist with reclamation, maintenance, repair and housekeeping around the plant as requested by plant management.

Essential Job Duties:

Operate mobile equipment including, but not limited to, bull dozer, excavator (with rock breaker attachment), loader, articulated haul truck, skid steers, fork lifts, water trucks, sweeper, compactors and man lifts

Inspector equipment prior to shift for safety, environmental and maintenance defects

Monitor ground conditions in area you are maintaining

Complete Daily pre/ post equipment inspections - report as needed

Complete Environmental compliance reports - as requested

Maintain adequate cleanliness of equipment

Report any defects to shop, foreman and / or plant management

Monitor environmental compliance (dust) of area

Inspect wear items on equipment report as needed to shop

Ensure areas under your scope remain in environmental compliance

Capable of loading hoppers and trucks with limited spillage. Capable of using loader scales to optimize truck loading

Other duties as outlined by plant manager Minimize overloading of trucks and remaining complaint with DOT weight restrictions

Perform housekeeping (clean, shovel, remove trash and debris) to ensure a safe, clean and complaint operation

Ensure fill is placed in accordance with Fill Operating Plan (FOP) and regulatory guidelines.

Ensure site remains compliant with all MSHA, OSHA and EPA standards

Qualifications/Experience:

Strong, team oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance

Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies

Strong mechanical aptitude

Understands and complies with MSHA regulations preferred

MSHA Miner Training Certification preferred

Ability to work well with others

High school diploma or GED equivalent or 10 years industry related experience

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

3 years mobile equipment operational experience on bull dozer (D9 size), excavator (Cat 349 and Hitachi 870), loader (980M size), articulated haul truck, skid steers, fork lifts, water trucks and man lifts

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle

Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, balance, and climb

Good vision (wither naturally or with correction)

Able to lift 75 pounds on a routine basis

Able to work in wet and dry conditions and extreme heat and cold

Work in an environment that may include mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises requiring the consistent use of proper PPE

Ability to walk on uneven surfaces

Work overtime and various shifts times as required

Weekend work as required to meet customer demands

Ability to operate heavy equipment as necessary
