The primary responsibility of the weigh master is to ensure customer service; the weighmasters are the primary contact with our customers and haulers on quoting, inputting orders into JWS, accepting orders, scheduling haulers (on FOB orders), communicating with haulers on stockpile locations or loading area and ensuring compliant loads are accurately ticketed for our customers. 

The weighmasters are also responsible for communicating customer needs and following up on customer complaints.  

As a member of the loadout team, the scale masters may be required to assist with ensuring that loadout facilities are inspected and maintained to optimize customer satisfaction. 


⦁    Customer Service is the primary responsibility of this role. 
⦁    Provide quotations for existing customers following guidelines established by Sales Manager
⦁    Accept orders from customers and enter them into JWS
⦁    Load customer trucks from bunkers or direct trucks to proper stockpile location 
⦁    Confirm correct material is loaded into truck
⦁    Correctly ticket customers for all loads
⦁    Communicate with loader operators to ensure acceptable truck turn around time
⦁    Process credit card transactions
⦁    Prepare and submit end of day ticket reconciliation 
⦁    Assist with customer complaint logging and corrective actions
⦁    Ensure operations is aware of upcoming sales demands on blended and specialty products 
⦁    Assist with maintenance and housekeeping in loadout tower and loadout tunnels
⦁    While the scale masters work under the direction of the loadout foreman who reports directly to the Aggregate Manager, this role also has dotted line responsibility to the Sales Manager. 
⦁    Complete Daily pre/ post shift inspections - report as needed 
⦁    Complete Environmental compliance reports - as requested 
⦁    Maintain adequate cleanliness of work location
⦁    Report any defects to shop, foreman and management 
⦁    Ensure areas under your scope of responsibility remain in environmental compliance 
⦁    Minimize overloading of trucks and remaining complaint with DOT weight restrictions 
⦁    Perform housekeeping (clean, shovel, remove trash and debris) to ensure a safe, clean and complaint operation  
⦁    Ensure site remains compliant with all MSHA, OSHA and EPA standards
⦁    Other duties as outlined by Aggregate Manager and Sales Manager

⦁    5 years weighmaster experience preferred 
⦁    Strong history with Customer Service 
⦁    Knowledge of California DOT Hauler regulations 
⦁    Strong computer skills with preference given to employees with JWS 
⦁    Strong, team oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance
⦁    Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies
⦁    Strong mechanical aptitude
⦁    Understands and complies with MSHA regulations preferred
⦁    MSHA Miner Training Certification preferred 
⦁    Ability to work well with others 
⦁    High school diploma or GED equivalent or 10 years industry related experience 
⦁    Valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record


⦁    Must have a valid CA driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle
⦁    Must be able to follow oral and written plans, directions, and instructions
⦁    Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, balance, crawl, and climb
⦁    Good vision (naturally or with correction)
⦁    Able to lift 75 pounds on a routine basis
⦁    Able to work in wet and dry conditions and extreme heat and cold
⦁    Work in an environment that may include mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises requiring the consistent use of proper PPE
⦁    Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
⦁    Work overtime and various shift times as required
⦁    Weekend work as required to meet customer demands
⦁    Ability to operate heavy equipment as necessary
⦁    Have eye, hand, and finger coordination 
⦁    Ability to fully use hands, arms, and fingers
⦁    Climb stairs and work on an elevated work space.
