Mission

  • Carries out manual tasks which contribute to the carrying out of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Applies the safety guidelines including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Carries out the work based on precise directives from their supervisors.
  • Prepares the tools,  the materials, necessary for the building of the structure and the workspace. 
  • Makes procurements for the construction site if necessary.
  • Transports and stores equipment.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the construction site.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED an asset
  • Valid class 5 drivers license with a recent commercial drivers abstract
  • Must own a reliable transportation (no public transit in Acheson)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to perform manual labour at times (ability to lift up to 25 kg/ 50 lbs)
  • Construction experience is an asset but not necessary
  • Experience with safety regulations and safe practices is an asset
  • Ability to work in uncertain outdoor conditions
  • Ability to work overtime hours
  • Ability to comply with our Drug and Alcohol Policy, including a no tolerance policy on Cannabis use

Total Compensation

  • Salary starting at $20.10 per hour, paid weekly. Salary is negotiable based on level of experience.
  • Regular overtime hours

  • Group Registered Pension Plan (RPP) after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period
