Position Summary

In this position, you will be responsible fabricating new equipment as well as modifying existing equipment and structures. Assisting in  the general maintenance, preventative maintenance programs and asset management for our Facilities. You will be responsible for responding to emergency and general repair calls, and a provide a proactive approach towards maintenance.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

•    Fabrication of structural components
•    Repair and enhance existing structures
•    Modify product and steam piping
•    Properly operate, maintain, and store welding tools and equipment
•    Accurately measure, cut, and prepare materials for projects
•    Offer advice and input on projects where possible
•    Assist with planning maintenance / projects
•    Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment
•    Ability to plan for improvements in increased production, cost savings, improved safety
•    May be called upon to travel to nearby plant(s) to provide additional maintenance support
•    Follow safety standards and practices

 

Required Qualifications

•    A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Welder
•    Formal welding training and/or a welding certification
•    Minimum of a GED, or high school diploma
•    Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License and a clear abstract, you will be required to operate company vehicles and mobile equipment
•    Familiarity with a variety of welding procedures, equipment, and techniques
•    Working knowledge of material specification standards, ability to read and understand technical documents, safety rules, blueprints, manuals, and documents referring to metallurgy
•    Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
•    Knowledge and commitment to safety regulations and safe welding practices
•    Knowledge in an industrial setting and awareness of process hazards
•    Strong attention to detail and quality assurance skills
•    Outstanding communication, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
•    Ability to work independently and efficiently
•    Must possess a strong work ethic and ability to work in an industrial setting
•    Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and strong hand-eye coordination
•    Able to operate forklifts, or boom lifts.
•    Demonstrated mechanical and routine maintenance operations experience
•    Confined space entry experience
•    Reliable transportation, punctuality is key
•    Must be organized, self-driven, and have ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
•    Strong computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook etc.), and experience with CMMS systems is required
•    Ability to work outdoors in all environments
•    Ability to work at heights
•    Desire to learn
•    Demonstrates and practices “can-do attitude”
