Job Summary

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic Safety Management Intern to join our crew and advance the success of our projects.

 

As an intern, you will shadow our safety team to ensure a secure and safe work environment for all employees involved in road construction projects and asphalt manufacturing plants. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management within the construction industry.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a strong environment of safety awareness
  • Support the safety team in delivering safety huddles
  • Promote the development of safety awareness campaigns and initiatives
  • Work closely with the Safety Specialist to understand our safety program and the importance of Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) & Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations
  • Complete mutually beneficial projects
  • Handling critical or confidential information with honesty and integrity

Skills

  • Confirmed understanding of safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and adaptability
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detailed with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Some travel required.

Education

 

Enrolled in a relevant safety management, occupational health and safety, or related Bachelor’s degree program.
