HGV Driver
The Colas Group operates internationally in every aspect of construction and maintenance for roads and for other types of transport infrastructure as well as on projects involving urban development and recreational facilities. The COLAS operation in Ireland primarily involves the distribution of bitumen products, emulsion manufacturing, chemical manufacturing and the provision of specialist road maintenance services on the national, regional and local roads network. COLAS in Ireland is an all island cross border business operating from 14 locations.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate HGV vehicles transporting bitumen emulsion to various sites and jobs
- Ensure adherence to all relevant road safety laws and regulations
- Follow delivery schedules and meet deadlines
- Carry out pre operation inspections of the vehicle and report any defects or issues
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents
- Assist with loading and unloading of bitumen emulsion using appropriate equipment
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve any delivery-related concerns or issues
Profile
- Valid HGV Class C license
- CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an HGV driver, preferably with experience in transporting bitumen emulsion
- Good understanding of road safety laws and regulations
- Adhere to company PPE policy at all times
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadline
- Attention to detail and ability to handle customer queries with professionalism
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime as required
