Position Summary

 

In this contract position of Administrative Clerk, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to general / basic accounting and administrative work such as organizing documentation and being part of team focused on providing customer service and support. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Review bills and invoices for potential errors and/or discrepancies. 
  • Performing month-end duties. 
  • Minute taking and maintaining training records. 
  • Data entry into ERP software (JD Edwards). 
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, posting, and recording accounts payable data.
  • Verifying for the correctness of drivers’ paperwork in the dispatch system to ensure information is correct for billing. 
  • Create and maintain vendor records using our corporate ERP and records filing system.
  • Other Administrative duties as required.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.

Required Qualifications

 

  • Minimum, High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Post-secondary graduate, with a concentration in Business Administration, or related program, from a recognized institution, or equivalent job-related experience is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an Administrative, or similar role, preferable within a Purchasing Department.
  • Background in Accounts Payable or Purchasing preferred.
  • Basic experience with ERP Systems (JD Edwards an asset).
  • Fundamental understanding of mathematics and accounting.
  • Knowledge of General Ledger, Job Costing, Accounts Payable and Purchasing.  Ex
  • Intermediate knowledge of computers and computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment, such as a fax machine, computer, photocopier, or other related office equipment.
  • A strong communicator that is articulate, patient, pleasant, sociable, and trustworthy. 
  • An active listener that is responsible, dependable and works well with others, while being able to accomplish individual and team goals. 
  • An individual that pays attention to detail, can interpret, and follow instructions, strives for excellence, and can meet deadlines while managing projects / assignments. 
  • An individual that is organized, punctual and timely with their work, a logical thinker that demonstrates initiative, is analytical and a problem solver.
  • A professional individual that can multi-task and set and achieve priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
