Operations Manager

Summary:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for an Area Maintenance Contract typically overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations across a designated area, ensuring that facilities, assets, and equipment are maintained effectively and efficiently. The Manager will also be responsible for training, coaching and development of direct reports.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee Area Maintenance Contract
• Maintain facilities, assets and equipment
• Training, coaching and development of direct reports
• Performance monitoring and reporting
• Inventory and asset management
• Identifying and executing in scope and extra work
• Health and safety
• Attracting, developing and retaining a high performing team
• Managing financial outcomes
• Quality control and compliance
Qualifications:
• Must have a minimum of three years of experience in operations management, or related industry
• Experience in the highway maintenance and/or road construction industry including significant budgetary and supervisory responsibilities
• Preference given to a candidate that has a post-secondary degree or diploma in business management or equivalent experience managing a highway maintenance contract.
• Must maintain a valid Class G Driver’s License, DZ will be considered an asset
• Ability to work the maintenance schedule which may include weekends and/or night shift
• Financial knowledge of accrual accounting and budgeting
• Knowledge of OTM Book 7 traffic control will be considered an asset
• Thorough knowledge of the applicable OH&S legislations and MTO specifications will be considered an asset
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Willingness to travel.
• Have a valid driver’s licence
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Must be a team player
