Purpose of the role

 

Colas Ltd. have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant to join the Asset team based in Portsmouth (PO6 1TA). Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will be responsible for producing Streetlighting Asset Management reporting including daily asset register update with operational maintenance data.

Main Responsibilities

 

As an Assistant for the Asset team your duties will include but not be limited to the following: You will provide updates on streetlighting inventory, you will coordinate streetlighting NDT and condition survey, you will be responsible for streetlighting inventory updates on GIS, Confirm system and Mayflower - Xml format. You will assist in coordinating the streetlighting structural non-destructive and visual asset inspections and conduct annual reports for streetlighting (methodology and process). You will be involved in producing Streetlighting energy report and coordinating all Network Road spacing bookings and TM requirement on pendulum test. You will conduct Asset Data analysis and streetlighting scheme asset modelling. To carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by your line manager. To ensure that all operations carried out within your area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself. Ensure all operations carried out within your area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard to Health and Safety.

Ideal Candidate

 

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering or Data Analyst. You will have knowledge and understanding of visual condition survey inspections and UKPMS standards, maintenance of highway, highways assets management principles. this is preferred but not essential as training will be given.  It is essential you have Good ICT skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Experience and knowledge of street lighting is desirable, not essential. If you have graduated in Data Analytics or Civil Engineering , this will be a great first role to get stuck into. A UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
