Job Summary:

Operates emulsion plant to product various asphalt oils and emulsions; maintains equipment.  Performs testing on asphalt products to ensure quality

Main Responsibilities:

•    Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
•    Support, promote, and practice the Company’s core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies 
•    Reads incoming paperwork to ensure accurate materials are being delivered
•    Perform advanced calculations
•    Operate forklift to unload and move various materials and equipment
•    Hook up off-load hoses for AC delivery
•    Trace product and raw material lines in order to achieve accurate transfers
•    Open, close and adjust valves as necessary to load or unload product in tanks and lines
•    Read gauges and adjust valves to adjust product mix to meet specifications
•    Read level gauges to mix different materials at accurate ratios to meet specifications
•    Climb tank ladders (up to 50’ high) to take tank gauges or service mechanical apparatus as needed
•    Check temperature and PSI of oil heater and adjust as necessary
•    Visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication
•    Perform plant and line maintenance, including repair or replacement of valves, motors, bearings, gaskets, shafts, gauges, etc.
•    Records operation and maintenance actions during shift in logbook
•    Clean facilities by sweeping, shoveling, scrapping spills, etc.
•    Complete production sheets

Education:

•    High school diploma or equivalent preferred
•    Valid drivers’ license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required

Skills:

•    1-3 years related experience and/or training preferred
•    Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Physical Requirements:

•    Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
•    Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
•    Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) 
•    Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
•    Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
•    Frequent exposure to loud noise 
•    Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
•    Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
•    Work schedules may vary including weekends; may require travel with overnight stays
