Safety Administrator

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting the administrative functions within the Safety department.  They are also responsible for promoting and participating in the safety culture of Goal Zero.
Job Duties
•    Maintain tracking and reporting on various programs such as fatigue management, investigations and training programs.
•    Participate in and support continuous improvements of all aspects of the company safety programs & initiatives including Goal Zero.
•    Assist with onboarding employees including setting up NSC Driver files and safety training assignments and PPE. 
•    Maintain and update the driver files.  
•    Assist with creating the department presentations including powerpoint slides, certificates of completion, participants tracking and youtube set up. 
•    In conjunction with the Safety Manager and third-party vendors help with reporting, tracking and managing WCB claims. 
•    Draft safety memos and communications for distribution. 
•    Provide support to the managers and supervisors on various projects and requests as required. 
•    Create and provide reports on health and safety stats and incident trends.
•    Develop an understanding of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation, WCB and Provincial/Federal job and industry specific legislation; participate in training as     required. 
•    In conjunction with the Safety Manager create, maintain, and update safety training for various aspects of the Company as required. 

Qualifications:
•    Administrative experience within a safety department is considered an asset. 
•    Administrative experience in the construction industry is considered an asset. 
•    Experience in the gathering and compilation of data, and preparation of reports.
•    Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
•    Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
•    Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
•    Experience with Safety Incident Management software programs such as Enablon is an asset.

•    Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks, likely with competing priorities. 
•    Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 
•    Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.
•    Approachable, positive demeanor with a hands-on and team-oriented work style. 
Working Conditions
•    Frequent sitting and manual dexterity required to use desktop computer.
•    Travel may be required for training
•    Occasional overtime and/or weekend work.
